Question
I HAVE RECENTLY READ ARTICLES ON FRESHWATER FISHING DISCUSSING THE USE OF FISHFINDERS IN WHICH THE AUTHOR STATES THAT HE CAN SEE FISH TAKE HIS LURE ON THE DISPLAY SCREEN OF HIS SONAR. IN YOUR OPINION, CAN THIS BE DONE AND IF SO, PLEASE EXPLAIN HOW.

Answer
Tom,
On some fishfinders that have good resolution and sensitivity you can see the fish move toward the bait. Video sounders will give the best overall return echo, on some models you can even get an idea of how large the fish actually are! You may want to visit a marine store such as WestMarine and look at the units on display, some setups will allow you to put the fishfinders into a simulation mode so you can see how the fish will look on the screens.
