over whipping - drifting out

Question
hello sir, may i know why few horses drift out in the race if the jockey is over whipping the horse on opposite side of the rump?

Answer
The horse is running away from the whip and from the pain. That is why it is called over whipping which should be punishable by fines and suspension. If a horse needs to be hit that much to run then he shouldn't be racing at all. A trainer should never allow the abuse of his horses by the jockeys. A good trainer can train a horse to run down the stretch on his own effort with a hand ride assist from the jockey.
