race horse hocks

2016/7/15 11:23:15

Question
Were getting the hocks done on our horse and I was wondering when a horse is ready to get back in a race after doing the hocks?

Answer
hi -- i guess it would depend on what the vet has done to the hocks. usually it would take a few days to see if it made any difference and then when you think the horse is going good enough to run in a race. if you inject the hocks then it would be good 48 hrs or so to see how good the horse was going before you decide when to run the horse again. your vet should advise you on when to run again. thanks ED HESS
