advantages of aluminum snaffles in racing

hello sir, why to use aluminum snaffles since they dont encourage salivation? what are the advantage of this type of mouthpiece?

HI -- FIRST OF ALL IS IS LITE IN THE MOUTH SO IT IS A GOOD BIT TO USE. I THINK THAT ALL HORSES SALIVATE WHEN THEY HAVE THE BIT IN THEIR MOUTH ,BECAUSE YOU ALWAYS DIP THE BIT IN WATER TO CLEAN IT OFF BEFORE YOU USE IT AGAIN ON THE NEXT HORSE. THANKS ED HESS
