Toes sorta numb

2016/7/22 10:11:04

Question
I just started running a month ago and I have experienced that  when I take my shoes off, my far 2 left toes feel a little numb (not completely) and occasionally when walking without shoes when I push up on my toes I feel a mild sharp come from each toe about an inch into my foot. Is this something I should be concerned about?

Answer
Hi Bill
It seems to me based on your description that it has to do with a neuroma(nerve). It is a common thing but should address it.It generally surfaces with people who's shoes are to tight in the fore foot, where the foot can't spread on impact.Take a close look at your shoes and see how much room you have in the toe box when you have them on.You can also google neuroma for further observation.I had that myself years ago.It is not major ,but it is not supposed to be.Let me know if that works for you.You might have to buy some new one's.Any other questions just get in touch.

All the best

John
