too fat to run?

2016/7/22 10:13:43

Question
I am about 30 pounds overweight.I have been going out for a weekly run but I wind up with sore feet and knees.I used to be able to run for hours before I got fat.
Is the extra weight to blame for the soreness? Should I lose weight before I start running again? Sounds like a catch 22!

Answer
dear brian
The answer is no you do not have to stop running.Your body just has to adapt which takes time.I would suggest you do a walk jog untill your body can handle full time running again. As i'm sure you know the extra thirty pounds would make a world of difference in more ways than one.
I strongly suggest you atack your weight situation since it gets harder as you get older as i'm sure you know.

The very best to you brian
