Where Do I Begin?

Question
Hello John.

I'm a 21 year old male. I weigh between 190-210 pounds (it's been a while since I've weighed myself!) I have a 36" waist.
Last year I had a 38" waist, and I was fed up with it. I started "The Abs Diet" which basically entails eating six small, healthy meals a day. Within a month and a half I bought my first pair of 34" pants. This was diet only, and no exercise.

However, just after this point, I met my now-fiancee, and as I'm sure you know...when you get the girl, you lose the diet. Within six months I went from being fairly trim and fit to nearly as bad as I was a year ago. I woke up one day to find my 36" pants barely fit! I got back on the diet, but with only moderate success; I'm comfortably a 36" waist, but nowhere near a 34". Much to my dismay, diet alone isn't doing the trick this time around.

I don't particularly like physical fitness activities. I've never been in good shape, and I've always been cosniderably weaker than anyone I've tested my strength against. However, I am interested in a career as either a peace office or a Naval Officer; both of which require fitness. Even if I don't go into either field, I still would like to be healthy.

So my question to you is, where do I begin?

Also, I work until 12 AM, and tend to go to bed around 4 AM. Should I enforce your suggestion in the morning, when I may have difficulty awaking, or would it be okay to do it when I get home, only a few hours before I go to bed?

Answer
How are ya David
First thing is...If its going to be it is up to me.Get the picture david. You begin with a well thought out detailed plan of action your commited to and not with the other half if you no what i mean. You can not succeed in life without exercise. As far as when to do it.You do it any time you can do it.Diets don't work.Just eat good well balanced meals, protein, carbs, good fats.As far as exercise is,walking or jogging for extended periods of time 6 days a week. You want to work up to 1 hour 6 days a week. When you get what you want you can cut back a little but not much. This is a prescription for a long healthy life. Also david don't forget the push ups and sit ups every day. This is really how simple it is.It is either action or inaction, which do you choose?I pened a few words for you to keep you focused.Print it and put it where you can reflect from time to time.

To your success

John

When you have a dream in your heart David and a vision of victory you can live and be the hero of your own success story. The wide doors of opportunity will open for you and are waiting for your entrance. like with any journey you will encounter some adversity and is at this moment you must stand tall in these difficult times in life and focus beyond where you are now.Don't talk about the problems. You must consentrate on the solutions and speak to the mountains which lie ahead. You must have the courage to be creative and dare to do what you have never done before. This is the only way to accomplish the impossible.Keep your eyes fixed on the path to the top but don't forget to look in front of you.The last step depends on the first.
