Question
I HAVE A STEVENS 311 SERIES H IN 12GA 2.75"-3.00"
WITH SHORT BARRELS
SERIAL  # ON LEFT SIDE OF RECEIVER ID B465XXX
WHAT IS THE DATE OF MFG ?
CAN YOU TELL THE FACTORY BARREL LENGTH/CHOKE

Answer
Mark,

Stevens produced S/S shotguns between 1887 and 1988. Stevens S/S shotguns manufactured between 1949 and 1968 had a factory stamped date code. The code is usually located behind the hinge pin or ahead of the trigger guard on the bottom of the frame. It will have a small circle with a number and letter. The letters will correspond to the year of manufacture. If you can provide me a that code I can advise of the year of manufacture.

As for barrel length, they have various length barrel & choke combinations with the most common length being 28".

Thanks, Sid Lark
