Ski Lengths

Question
Hi - I'm a pretty fit 50 year old, skied for 36 years but sadly only for 1-2 weeks each year. Getting more chances last few years thanks to finances, kids growing up etc. Always had what I thought were decent skis - currently Atomic Beta Ride 190cm. I need to change & have looked at Atomic GS 9 but recommended 170cms. Seems a bit short as I'm 6ft 3ins & 200lbs+. I ski mainly piste, quite quick, but mess around everywhere really. Does the 170cm size make sense to you.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Simon

Answer
Hey.. sorry for the delay.. was on vacation...

Anyway, we are the same size.. I ski 177/178's.. i have tried 183, 188 and 173...all of those either were too tought to get around in the bumps or the short ones I sunk too much in the crud.... 177/178 is my sweet spot.

Having said that, Demo skis before you buy. dont buy a ski without skiing on it for 2 hours first. you will regret it. Every ski is different, and if you buy off a saleman's reccomendation you will a high chance of buyer's remorse..
