Question
I purchased a long shaft conversion kit for my 1998 mercury 15m outboard. It came with ext. rods water tube and nuts. To drop the lower portion of the motor would I have to remove the prop. I am unclear of this part of it.
Thankyou

Answer
Hi Mike

I'm not qualified to offer advice in this situation, and I've never heard of a longshaft conversion kit, which would likely require a longer housing, and you didn't mention that aspect when describing what the kit included. I think you better consult a trustworthy marine mechanic for proper advice.
